HP personal workstation customers told us that they preferred to customize their Linux image and already had their license for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We listened. The HP Installer Kit for Linux will ease your Linux installation, allow you to avoid purchasing Red Hat Enterprise Linux again, and give you the flexibility to create the custom OS images you want while keeping HP as your single point of support.

With a dedicated Linux R&D team and a lengthy history of developing UNIX® libraries and device drivers, HP qualifies and delivers an engineered solution of Red Hat Linux tailored to each HP personal workstation platform.

HP Installer Kit for Linux* provides:

HP Driver CD for Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 3 and WS 4

  • Post installation CD that correctly configures your linux workstation
    • drivers required for boot are included in the Enterprise WS box set or the Red Hat Driver CD
  • Accelerated graphics drivers from Nvidia and ATI
  • HP Setup  (HP provided online Documentation and URL’s pertinent to your linux workstation configuration)

Red Hat Driver CD for Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 3 and 4

  • Pre installation driver CD for device drivers not included in the RHEL installation media
  • This CD exists only when a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update has released before including all of the HW enablement for the HP workstation. Upon release of the next Red Hat update, the need for this CD goes away

*Customer acquires the desired Red Hat Box Set/CDs.
