HP Performance Tuning Framework enables optimal configuration of HP Personal Workstations delivering stability and best performance.

Today's workstations are composed of an infinite number of combinations of hardware and software components, OS, and applications. System setup is a very difficult task given the enormous number of configuration possibilities. To reduce complexities, systems are frequently setup without considering the specific needs of the individual user.

HP Performance Tuning Framework will guide your system setup allowing a "custom" configuration that best matches the workstation to user requirements. This customization ensures availability of the latest graphics cards and drivers and removes some memory restraints.

The Framework's extensible design permits new configuration functionality and application support to be easily integrated over time. To facilitate the delivery of such new features, the Framework automatically updates itself when newer versions become available.

HP Performance Tuning Framework can help save both time and money and increase overall productivity.

The Framework is currently supported only on Hewlett-Packard's Personal Workstations running either Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional.

What can it do for me?

The HP Performance Tuning Framework assists with workstation configuration and application tuning tasks.

A primary feature is its ability to aid in the selection and installation of 3D graphics drivers. It references a database that maintains the currently certified driver for the supported applications installed on the workstation, and provides guidance on the best driver choice. Initiation of the download and installation of the desired driver is reduced to a single button click in the Framework's interface.

Application-specific tuning is another feature of the HP Performance Tuning Framework. After installing an application, there are often things that can be done to improve performance or functionality. The Framework attempts to facilitate the implementation of these tuning and configuration techniques by offering simplified user interfaces that encapsulate potentially disparate activities necessary to produce the desired positive result.

How do I get it?

As of October 2003, the Framework is preinstalled on all HP personal workstations ordered with the Microsoft Windows operating systems.

To install the HP Performance Tuning Framework on a Personal Workstation running Microsoft Windows operating system configured by HP prior to October 2003, follow the instructions on the download page.
